If the target organism contains more than one copy of the gene, what is the effect on these copies?

The correct choice is (c) It is difficult to ensure that all the copies are disrupted

For explanation I would say: If more than one copy of the gene is there in the target organism, it is difficult to ensure that all the copies are disrupted. Multiple copies of the gene can be present, if the organism is not haploid.
