Which of the following enzyme is used as a label?

(a) Lactate dehydrogenase

(b) Hexokinase

(c) Urease

(d) β-galactosidase

This question was posed to me in an interview for internship.

I need to ask this question from Therapeutic and Analytical Uses of Enzymes in section Enzymes of Enzyme Technology

Correct answer is (d) β-galactosidase

Easy explanation: β-galactosidase is used as a label in various immunoassays for determining serum concentration of drugs, hormones or other compounds of interest. Whereas lactate dehydrogenase, hexokinase and urease acts as reagents in lactase, creatinine kinase and urea assay.
