Which geometric parameter determines the efficiency of the channel?

(a) Hydraulic depth

(b) Hydraulic radius

(c) Section factor

(d) Normal depth

The question was asked by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

The origin of the question is Geometrical Properties of Rectangular Section in section Flow in Open Channels of Fluid Mechanics

Right choice is (b) Hydraulic radius

To explain: The Hydraulic Radius is given by R = A/P and as R increases P decreases. As P is less the channel is more efficient.
