Determine the section factor for the channel section having area 20m^2.

(b) 30m

(c) 40m

(d) 50m

The question was posed to me by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My question comes from Geometrical Properties of Rectangular Section in section Flow in Open Channels of Fluid Mechanics

Correct option is (b) 30m

To explain: Section factor (Z) = A√D

= 20√4

= 40m.
