The ratio between depth and width of a rectangular channel is ¼ and the area of the rectangular section is 16m^2. Calculate the top width of the channel.

The correct option is (d) 8m

The best I can explain: Ratio = ¼

D/B = ¼

4D = B

Area (A) = 16m^2

(B) (D) = 16 = 4D^2; D = 4m

B = 2(4) = 8m.
