I got this question by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.

This is a very interesting question from Location of Spillway in division Spillways, Energy Dissipators and Spillway Gates of Irrigation Engineering

Correct choice is (c) spillway

To explain I would say: A spillway is essentially a safety valve for the dam and must be properly designed. It should have adequate capacity to dispose off the entire surplus water from upstream to downstream at the time of the arrival of the worst design flood.
