Which of the following gases are evolved during putrefaction?

(b) Hydrogen sulfide

This question was addressed to me in my homework.

My question comes from Principles of Food Preservation by Fermentation-1 in chapter Principles of Semi-Moist Foods, Principles of Food Preservation by Fermentation, Principles of Food Pickling and Curing and Principles of Food Storage Stability of Food Engineering

The correct choice is (d) Carbon dioxide & Hydrogen sulfide

Easiest explanation: Both of the mentioned gases are evolved during putrefaction but only hydrogen sulphide has a characteristic odor.
