The correct choice is (d) 0.25% of the concrete area

To elaborate: The base of the channel is usually made of reinforced concrete slabs 25 to 50 cm thick and light reinforcement of about 0.25% of the concrete area is also provided in both the directions. The chute is sometimes narrowed for the economy and then widened near the end to reduce the discharging velocity.
