What is the function of glyphosate?

(b) It is an herbicide

(c) It is an enzyme used in place of glucose as a carbon source

I have been asked this question in final exam.

My query is from Vascular Plants in section Using Other Organisms of Genetic Engineering

Correct choice is (b) It is an herbicide

To elaborate: Glyphosate is an herbicide. It inhibits an enzyme which is necessary for shikmic acid pathway.
