(a) Saline soil

(b) Saline-alkaline soil

(c) Alkaline soil

(d) Non-saline soil

The question was posed to me in semester exam.

The correct choice is (c) Alkaline soil

Best explanation: The three classes of salty soil are based on these three properties pH range, ESP, and conductivity of saturated extract. Alkali soil has pH range in between 8.5 and 10, ESP greater than 15, and conductivity of saturated extract less than 4 milli-mhos/cm at 25°C.
