(c) greater than one

(d) none of the mentioned

This question was addressed to me during an interview.

The doubt is from Spur Gears in section Toothed Gearing & Gear Trains of Machine Kinematics

The correct answer is (c) greater than one

To elaborate: The ratio of the length of arc of contact to the circular pitch is known as contact ratio i.e. number of pairs of teeth in contact.
