I'd like to ask this question from Stress Distribution in division Stress Distribution of Geotechnical Engineering I

Correct option is (c) 700kN

Best explanation: Given,

contact pressure is 14 kN/m^2

area =50 m^2

\(Contact\, pressure=\frac{normal\, load}{true \,contact\, area}\)

normal load= Contact pressure* true contact area

∴ load=14*50

∴ load=700kN.
