What is v^2/2 in the equation for a control volume in space?

(a) Potential energy per unit mass

(b) Kinetic energy per unit mass

(c) Thermal energy per unit mass

(d) Mechanical energy per unit mass

This question was addressed to me by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.
