Which one of the following is a major loss?

(a) frictional loss

(b) shock loss

(c) entry loss

(d) exit loss

This question was addressed to me in an interview for job.

My doubt stems from Loss of Energy in Pipes topic in section Flow Through Pipes of Fluid Mechanics

Correct choice is (a) frictional loss

For explanation I would say: The major loss for the flflow through the pipes is due to the frictional resistance between adjacent fluid layers sliding over each other. All other losses are considered to be minor losses.
