What is the use of calcium in media?

I had been asked this question in semester exam.

My enquiry is from Media Design for Bioprocesses in section Equipping a Fermentation Laboratory, the Design and Preparation of Media for Bioprocesses of Fermentation Technology

The correct choice is (c) Stabilization of cell walls

To explain I would say: Calcium is required for the stabilization of cell walls and is important particularly for the formation of endospore as it contains a high concentration of calcium dipicolinate.
