My doubt is from Design of Rigid Pavements in section Design of Flexible & Rigid Pavement of Geotechnical Engineering II

Correct option is (a) constant

The best explanation: The surface of the slab is subjected to a wide range of temperatures during the daily cycle. As far as the bottom surface is considered, the temperature in general is relatively more constant.
