I have been asked this question in an interview for internship.

This is a very interesting question from The Swedish Slip Circle Method topic in section Stability of Slopes of Geotechnical Engineering II

The correct option is (a) n – 1

For explanation I would say: In the rectangular plot method if there are n-slices, the total number of ordinates will be (n-1), the ordinates at the end of the last strip being zero.
