For explanation: Ca(OH)2 and NaOH acts as carbon dioxide scavenging system. Potassium hydroxide, calcium oxide and silica gel also serves as CO2 scavengers. It is generally used in dehydrated poultry products, roasted coffee, beef jerky, etc.
