What are the types of spark plug?

(a) Cold plug

(b) Hot plug

(c) Hot and Cold plug

(d) Plug

I had been asked this question by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

This key question is from Ignition System of I.C. Engine in section Ignition and Power Transmission of Farm Machinery

Correct choice is (c) Hot and Cold plug

The best explanation: Cold plug has a short insulator extending into the cylinder. The short path dissipates heat quickly, so it is named as cold plug. Hot plug has a comparatively longer insulator, so the heat has to pass through a longer path.
