What will be the overall gain in Darlington circuit, if the individual transistor gain is 200?

(a) 10000

(b) 40000

(c) 8000

(d) 1000

This question was addressed to me by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

The query is from Operational Amplifier Internal Circuit in portion Operational Amplifier of Linear Integrated Circuits

Right answer is (b) 40000

To make it clear: Overall current gain, β= β1×β2 (Multiplication of current gain of individual transistor)

⇒ β=200×200=40000
