This question was addressed to me by my college director while I was bunking the class.

Query is from Operational Amplifier Internal Circuit in section Operational Amplifier of Linear Integrated Circuits

Accurate answer is (a) β≫1

Break it down: If value of β is used in the equation,  IC=β/(β+2)×Iref.  It almost become unity and the output current become equal to reference current.
