Which of the following intake structure is widely used in small works?

(a) Sluiceways

(b) Simple submerged intakes

(c) Wet intake towers

(d) Dry intake towers

This question was addressed to me during an online exam.

My doubt is from River Intakes topic in chapter Pressure Conduits, Outlet Works through Dams and Rivers of Irrigation Engineering

Right option is (b) Simple submerged intakes

Explanation: The main disadvantage of simple submerged intakes is that they are not easily accessible for repairing of their gates etc. But, these are economical and do not obstruct navigation and are widely used in small works. These are particularly suitable as water-supply intakes from small rivers.
