I got this question in a dream while sleeping

My doubt is from Control and Training of Rivers topic in section Rivers Behaviour, Control and Training of Irrigation Engineering

The correct option is (d) Training for Discharge

To explain I would say: This work is undertaken for prime purpose of flood control. It aims to provide sufficient cross section for the safe passage maximum flood and makes the adjoining areas flood proof by construction of levees or dykes.
