I have been asked this question at a job interview.

The doubt is from Behavior of Rivers in division Rivers Behaviour, Control and Training of Irrigation Engineering

The correct option is (c) Trough

For explanation I would say: The shape of cross section of a straight reach is in the shape of a trough, with high speed velocities of flow in the middle of the section.
