If the body is not rotating with a constant angular velocity then there are both radial and tangential component of acceleration.

(a) True

(b) False

The question was posed to me by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

My question is taken from Acceleration in the Slider Crank Mechanism & Coriolis Component in division Acceleration in Mechanisms of Machine Kinematics

Correct choice is (a) True

To explain: The radial component always exists as long as the body is rotating with some angular velocity, however the tangential components acts only if the angular velocity is not constant. In this case both the components will act on the given link.
