The question was asked by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

The doubt is from Diffused Air System in division Sewage Filtration and Activated Sludge Process of Environmental Engineering

Right choice is (b) 780cm^2

For explanation I would say: Diffuser plates are provided at the bottom of the aeration tank. It is square in shape with the dimension of 30cm x 30cm.
