For the process of pelletization, which material is added in order to make it sticky?

I got this question in an interview.

My question is based upon Calcination of Limestone, Dolomite, and Phosphate Rock in division Industrial Applications of Fluidized Beds of Fluidization Engineering

Right answer is (a) Soda ash or caustic soda

To explain: By added soda ash or caustic soda, the surface of pellets becomes sticky and coated with fines.
