Which of the following is categorized as pesticide used in India?

(a) Atrazine

(b) Simazine

(c) Benomyle

(d) Cytotoxic drugs

The question was posed to me in class test.

My question is based upon Fate of Pesticides in the Environment in chapter Biodegradation of Pesticides in the Environment of Environmental Biotechnology

Right option is (d) Cytotoxic drugs

Best explanation: Atrazine, simazine, benomyle, all of these are basic insecticides used in the industry for production of insecticide in India. These are very commonly used in India, whereas, cytotoxic drugs are used and old expired medicines and hence, it’s not an insecticide. Insecticide usually helps to kill and control the population of insects.
