Is it possible to use worm gears in cranes for lifting purpose?

(a) True

(b) No self-locking and hence not possible

(c) Possible up to a threshold load

(d) None of the listed

I need to solve this question that I got during a group discussion.

This numerical problem is from the Worm Gears concept in section Bevel Gears, Worm Gears and FlyWheel of Machine Design
