To obtain a faster slew rate the op-amp should have

(a) High current and large compensating capacitor

(b) Small compensating capacitor

(c) High current or small compensating capacitor

(d) Low current or large compensating capacitor

I had been asked this question in my homework.

My query is from Slew Rate in division Practical Limitations of Op Amp Circuits of Linear Integrated Circuits

Slew rate (SR) is defined as the maximum rate of change of output voltage:

SR = dVout/dt

To obtain a faster (higher) slew rate, the op-amp should have:

- High current (to charge/discharge compensation capacitor faster)

- Small compensating capacitor (lower capacitance = faster charging)

Answer: (c) High current or small compensating capacitor
