Find out the op-amp which does not have same specifications and behaviour as that of N5741?

(a) MC1741

(b) CA3741

(c) SN52741

(d) None of the mentioned

The question was posed to me in an internship interview.

My question is from Integrated Circuit Package Type, Pin Configuration and Temperature Range in chapter Operational Amplifier Characteristics of Linear Integrated Circuits

The correct answer is (c) SN52741.

The N5741 op-amp has the following variants:

- MC1741: Motorola version (741 variant)

- CA3741: RCA version (741 variant)

- SN52741: This is a military-grade op-amp with a wider temperature range and higher reliability standards

The SN52741 does NOT have the same specifications and behaviour as the N5741 because:

1. SN52741 is military-grade (M-suffix designates military)

2. It operates over a wider temperature range (-55°C to +125°C vs 0°C to +70°C for commercial grade)

3. It has higher reliability and tighter specifications

4. It has different pin configurations compared to the standard N5741

5. Cost is significantly higher due to military specifications

While MC1741 and CA3741 are commercial equivalents of the same 741 op-amp, SN52741 is a different grade altogether.
