Find the moisture content in dry basis if the weight of dry solid is 5 kg and the moisture is 2 kg.

(a) 0.2

(b) 0.3

(c) 0.4

(d) 0.5

This question was addressed to me by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.

Question is from Drying Operation in chapter Drying of Mass Transfer

Right option is (c) 0.4

Explanation: As it is a dry basis, the moisture content = 2/5 =0.4.
