The question was posed to me in an interview.

I'm obligated to ask this question of Method of Site Exploration in chapter Stabilisation of Soils, Site Investigation and Sub – Soil Exploration of Geotechnical Engineering II

Right answer is (d) Rotary boring

To explain I would say: Rotary boring or rotary drilling is a very fast method of advancing hole in both rocks and soil by drill rod.
