My doubt stems from Group Action in Piles topic in division Pile Foundations of Geotechnical Engineering II

The correct choice is (a) Clay is incompressible

To explain I would say: As a rough approximation, the settlement of a group of friction piles can be computed on the assumptions that the clay contained between the top of piles is incompressible.
