If the critical plane settles more than the top of the conduit, the settlement ratio is __________

(b) Negative

(c) Positive

(d) Unity

This question was posed to me by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

Right option is (c) Positive

For explanation: If the critical plane settles more than the top of the conduit i.e. if (sm + sg) is more than (sf + dc) the settlement ratio is positive.
