I had been asked this question in an interview for internship.

My question comes from IS Code Method for Computing Bearing Capacity topic in division Bearing Capacity of Geotechnical Engineering II

The correct answer is (b) Meyerhof and Brinch Hansen

To explain I would say: IS code (IS : 6403-1981) recommends a bearing capacity equation which is similar in nature to those given by Meyerhof and Brinch Hasen.
