According to theory of flow of fluids through porous medium,the saturated porous medium is ___________

(a) Compressible

(b) Incompressible

(c) Moderately compressible

(d) Highly compressible

This question was posed to me during an online interview.

My question is from Two Dimensional Flow : Laplace Equation in division Seepage Analysis of Geotechnical Engineering I

Correct choice is (b) Incompressible

For explanation: The size of the pore spaces in saturated soil mass does not change with time, regardless of water pressure. Therefore the saturated porous medium is incompressible.
