With increase in temperature, the capillary rise _______

I had been asked this question by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

My doubt stems from Capillary Siphoning in portion Soil Water Effective and Neutral Stresses of Geotechnical Engineering I

Correct answer is (a) decreases

For explanation I would say: As the surface tension decreases with the temperature increase, the capillary rise which is directly proportional to the surface tension, would decrease with the increase in the temperature.
