What is the detention period of a clarifier used in the treatment of water?

I had been asked this question during an internship interview.

My doubt is from Flocculation and Clarification topic in section Sedimentation of Environmental Engineering

The correct answer is (c) 3hours

To explain: The detention period of a clarifier is lower than in the plain sedimentation tank and its range is 2.5 to 3 hours.
