There is same type of tooth meshing in helical and spur gear.

(a) True

Someone asked me this question at a job interview.

The origin of this question is the Helical Gears concept in module Rolling Contact Bearings, Spur Gears and Helical Gears of Machine Design

The recommended answer is (b) False

Unravel the mysteries with: In spur gears contact occurs along entire face width which leads to impact condition while in helical contact begins from a single point and then there is gradual increase in load.
