How does atmospheric pressure vary with increase in altitude?

(a) It decreases linearly

(b) It decreases exponentially

(c) It increases linearly

(d) It increases till stratosphere and then starts decreasing exponentially

I have been asked this question in an online quiz.

Correct choice is (b) It decreases exponentially

The best I can explain: At first the pressure gradually decreases with increase in altitude, and with further increase the rate at which pressure drops starts increasing.
