To explain: Cohesion-less soil is in its loosest form will have its void ratio e=emin.

Since  ID=\(\frac{(e_{max} – e)}{(e_{max}-e_{min})}\)

ID=\(\frac{(e_{max} – e_{min})}{(e_{max}-e_{min})}\)

ID=1.
