I have been asked this question in an interview for internship.

My doubt is from Types of Binders in the Moulding Sand, Types of Base Sand in chapter Casting Processes of Foundry and Forging

Right choice is (c) Dextrin

The best I can explain: Dextrin is a water soluble binder. The air hardens rapidly and resists core sagging during the handling. The increased moisture content develops the higher tensile strength, baked scratch and the edge hardness.
