Which type of chloramine is formed when pH of water is 4.4?

(a) Monachloramine

(b) Dichloramine

(c) Trichloramine

(d) Both monochloramine and dichloramine

I had been asked this question during an internship interview.

This interesting question is from Chlorination topic in chapter Properties of Disinfection of Environmental Engineering

Correct option is (b) Dichloramine

The best explanation: When the pH<4.4, then trichloramine is formed and when pH lies in the range 4.4-5, then only dichloramine is formed.
