The explanation is: As mesh size increases, the aperture size decreases. Mesh size refers to the number of mesh openings present in one inch. Hence as the aperture seize increases, the number of meshes per inch decrease. In Tyler series, the ratio of the aperture size of two consecutive screens is a ratio of 1.412. (Square root of 2)
